The Oboedire Shop

The Oboedire Shop is your place to go to get a variety of items that can assist you in your spiritual formation.  Just as the name implies, The Shop contains a number of helpful things you can bring home and use.  The current items include….

Connections

“Connections” is the occasional blog post which Steve uses to let you know about other resources he believes you will find helpful in your spiritual formation.  You can click on to the “Connections” category to see all the previous posts and recommendations.

Formation Ministries

Renovare (www.renovare.org) is an ecumenical formation ministry begun by Richard Foster and now carried on under the leadership of Christopher Webb.  The core ministry explores classic “streams” of the Christian spiritual life, but Renovare also produces a variety of other formation materials.

Companions in Christ (www.companionsinchrist.org) is another ecumenical resource produced by The Upper Room.  It addresses key themes in Christian spiritual formation.

The Upper Room (www.upperroom.org) produces a variety of excellent formation resources for children, youth, and adults.

Inter-Varsity’s Formatio series (www.ivpress/formatio/) is another source to explore.  It includes a variety of formative books and materials.

Steve’s Books

He has authored and/or co-authored more than 20 books.  You can see them at Amazon.com.  Just go to the website, put “Books”  into the Search Box.  Then, put “Steve Harper” in the Go Box.  When the result pops up, scroll down a little bit, and you will find Steve’s “Author Page,” which has his complete list of published books.  Please order any of these resources directly through Amazon.com.

Free Stuff

This section of “The Shop” includes a growing list of free resources.  These are materials Steve has previously produced in connection with his spiritual formation ministry.  To order any of them, send an email to oboedireblog@gmail.com.  Tell Steve which resource you want to receive.  He will reply to your email with that resource attached to his email.

The current list of free resources includes…(1) “A Pastor’s Approach to Spiritual Formation”….(2) “Spiritual Disciplines: From Legalism to Liberty”….(3) “Christian Thinking”….(4) “Embracing Wesleyan Spirituality”….(5) “A Theology of Spiritual Formation”….(6) “The Centrality of Prayer for Leaders”….(7) “Coping With Spiritual Dryness”….(8) “Self-Examination”….and….(9) “The Personhood of the Clergy”

(Note:  In the future, we will expand “The Shop” to include additional items.  We will post via the “Connections” blog topic when new items are available)
