I’m watching the Farmers’ Insurance Open golf tournament. During a break in the play, they advertised some of the upcoming tournaments: The Waste Management Open (Phoenix) and the ATT Open (Pebble Beach). Not far from my home is Brighthouse Stadium and the Amway Arena.
Seems the new adjectives in our language are corporations—sponsors who are willing to pay a lot of money to get their name before people.
This got me to thinking—-how much do you think we could make in the church if we sought corporate sponsorship for elements in our worship services. Here are some possibilities….
“Verizon Wireless Announcements”
“Mazda Praise Choruses—Zoom Zoom”
“Aqua Fina Infant Baptism”
I’d better stop, lest you think I’m serious. I guess it’s okay to attempt a little humor every now and then on this blog. But then again……. No, stop it! We can only imagine.
