In-Sight: Conviction

We fight the conviction of the Holy Spirit because our ego interprets it as God “meddling” in our lives.  But the fact is, conviction is God’s attempt to redirect our lives away from the “edge” of spiritual cliffs, where (left unchecked) we would plummet to our death.

Conviction is one of the best experiences we can have, because it is the sign that our souls are still sensitive enough to receive life-saving warnings from the Spirit of God.

When we experience conviction, we must not say, “God, bail out of my life.”  We must begin to sing the Country & Western song, “Jesus, take the wheel.”
