Site Update: Coming in September

Rather than waiting until our next “First Day” post, I want to tell you three things that will change on the Oboedire site, beginning on September 1st.

First, and by way of reminder, we will offer the opportunity to read the Bible together, using John Stott’s Through the Bible–Through the Year (Baker Books).  A brief, daily post entitled “Journey in the Word” will post at 5:00 p.m. each day–except Sundays.  By leaving comments we can create a “cyber” Bible study group, and I hope that’s what happens.  I remind you of this, so that you can have time to order your copy of Stott’s book.  You don’t have to have the book in order to be part of the group, but if you do have it, you will find rich insights from Stott’s mind and heart.  I’m looking forward to some group lectio divina in our Oboedire family.

Second, “In-Sight”  will move to  3:00 p.m.  This has become an almost-daily post, but when I get back into the swing of things at the seminary, it may not come quite so often.  But when it does, you’ll find it at 3:00 p.m.

Third, “Soul Byte” returns on September 1st, with daily postings at Noon.  You can use insights from “the great cloud of witnesses” to mark your mid-day.

The “First Day” post for September will be a very important one for our community.  It will include additional items I’m considering for the future, but I want and need your input before I make final decisions about them.  Please plan to give prayerful attention to this post when it arrives in a couple of weeks.

Be ready for these changes coming soon to an Oboedire blog near you!

Great, thank you! I have already ordered John Stott’s book and am so excited about what you are planning! Your emails are a great inspiration and I look forward to them so much!! I don’t know how you find time to send so many as busy as you are but I am most appreciative. Blessings, Peggy
