First Day: Looking Into The Fall

Yes, I know it’s not September 1st.  🙂

I took the weekend off from my computer.  At first I thought I’d skip this month’s “First Day” post, but I remembered that I did that last month.  There are some things to call to your attention as we head into the Fall.

The Oboedire family continues to grow.  We had over 7,500 visits last month.  More than half of these are due to subscribers—that is, people who automatically follow Oboedire.  Subscriptions continue to grow, and I am happy for that because it means I can actually produce some writings that create sustained thought and an ongoing journey for some of you.

I also appreciate those of you who may not receive the posts automatically, but visit the site regularly, either to read a favorite topic or stay in touch with things in general.  I hope Oboedire will continue to be a blessing to you.

And if you happen to be a newcomer to Oboedire, I say “Welcome!”  I’m glad you’ve decided to join the journey.

And to everyone….please continue to tell others about Oboedire whenever God leads you to think that someone you know might want to become part of the Oboedire experience.

As we head into the Fall, two new series are just at the beginning stage:  (1) writings on Discernment each Thursday in the “Ministry Musings” segment, and (2) another walk through The Rule of Benedict each Friday.   It’s not too late to join both of these extended journeys and to tell others about them.

Also, I have added a new article to the Oboedire Shop.  It’s entitled, “Keeping the ‘Why’ Alive,” and it’s about the importance of maintaining a sense of vocation in the midst of our jobs and regular routines.   I hope you log on to the main site from time to time and update yourself through the descriptive icons at the top of it.  I continue to revise these readings and that includes occasional additions to items available to you at the Oboedire Shop.

I have a couple of other items stirring around, but I continue to feel it’s too early to put them on the table.  So, I just ask you to pray for me as I seek to discern God’s ongoing will for Oboedire.  Be assured of my prayers for you as well.
