I’ve been asked to provide the list of books we are using as common texts for the various weekly postings. Here they are….
Monday, “Listenings”—-Henri Nouwen, Spiritual Formation (HarperOne)
Tuesday, “Desert Wisdom”—-Gabriel Bunge, Earthen Vessels (Ignatius Press)
Friday, “Benedict’s Rule”—-Esther de Waal, Seeking God (Liturgical Press)
Occasionally, I also post from these sources….
(1) Richard Rohr’s daily e-devotional, which you can subscribe to for free at his Center for Action and Contemplation website.
(2) Quotations of early Christians in the weekly “Holy Gospel” postings, from Thomas Oden and Cindy Crosby’s Ancient Christian Devotional (Inter-Varsity Press). It’s a three-volume series, and I’m using volume two: Year B (in the Lectionary).
I know you will be able to get more out of the posts if you have the books to set my writing in its original and larger context, but (as you know) having the books is not a requirement for being part of the Oboedire readership. Enjoy!
