In-Sight: Thank You!

This past Wednesday, friends and colleagues of the seminary held a retirement luncheon for Jeannie and me.  I formally retire from Asbury Seminary on December 31st, after almost 30 years of service.  If you add the fact that Jeannie and I stepped onto the campus as newlyweds in June of 1970, the journey has now covered more than 42 years!

It was a wonderful occasion—overwhelming, in fact.  Some folks traveled long distances to surprise us.  Many others wrote emails, sent cards, and posted Face Book messages to share the moment with us.

This post is simply to say to any of you who have done this—-THANK YOU!   We are reading through all the notes we’ve received, and we will be responding as we are able.  But I thought this post would at least let a number of you know how blessed Jeannie and I are by the words you have spoken to us.

When we put it all together—-all we can say is, “Thanks be to God!”
